A journey of remembrance, renewal and dialogue

An annual walking journey from Eilat to She’ar Yashuv, honoring Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror while creating a genuine encounter with the land, its people and ourselves.

The journey reflects Avi Afner’s spirit: love of the land, study and inquiry, connection across religious and secular communities, and a longing for peace. AVI also means “Together is Possible.”

The first family journey took place in 2002, and Nifgashim on the Israel Trail began in 2006. Since then, tens of thousands have walked together in remembrance, respectful dialogue and hope.

Renewal

Questions of values, responsibility and meaning — above all, how we build a society of shared life.
